If you think that leadership and manager development is about getting everyone to conform to the organisational ideal of the well-rounded person who can do everything really well, don’t come to us. The well-rounded person who can do everything well is a myth, but unfortunately it keeps organisations hooked into trying to find them.
In contrast, if you think you can develop people best to realise their potential through identifying, developing, and harnessing their strengths – at the same time as they learn how to manage their weaknesses and moderate their learned behaviours – then we’re just the people to work with you.
Our work in leadership, manager and team development is based exactly on this. We help people to identify where they can or do perform best, maximise it through harnessing it to the full – but not going too far and tipping into strengths overplayed, and then help them to take care of business through managing their weaknesses to make them irrelevant – at Peter Drucker’s suggestion, and moderating their learned behaviours to make them sustainable. After all, we’re in this for the long term, just like you.
We don’t offer off-the-shelf development programmes and interventions, since we believe that effective leadership, manager and team development is all about contextualising it to your situation, your organisation, your industry, and your unique context. Instead, we draw on our extensive knowledge from both academic research and organisational experience, to develop development approaches that are right for you. For sure, we have a few models and techniques up our collective sleeves to draw from, but we’re not so arrogant that we think the way we have done it before is the only right way. We believe the only right way is the way that’s right for you, so that’s what we deliver.
